 "Planet Waves Products" 2010-05-14
By A. C. Namlik (Gowanda, NY United States)
The bridge pins are of excellent quality, as are the "Planet Waves" mic cables that I use almost exclusively. Unfortunately, they did not fit my particular guitar without "slipping". I cannot give a bad review, however, as such things happen from time to time.

 "Decent, but plastic" 2010-03-04
By D. Bowen (Clinton, NY)
These are good, not great. A decent replacement if you have worn or broken pins but these are plastic and not wood so the quality is probably comparable to most entry level acoustic guitar pins. But my guitar needed them so they worked great for me.

 "Not as described" 2010-02-04
By J. Douglas
Received this item yesterday. They are NOT "high-quality boxwood, which lasts longer than ordinary plastic bridge pins" as described on the product page. They are, in fact, plastic. They may be fine plastic pins, though I have yet to try them on my guitar to see if they even fit.

This is the third time I have received an item from Amazon.com in which the description omitted crucial information or provided a description of another item entirely. Someone at Amazon.com needs to take charge and monitor the descriptions of the items they sell.

Amazon.com is certainly dropping in my esteem as a reputable online merchant.

"Best interface I've ever used." 2010-09-27
By A. Jackson (Boulder, CO USA)
I picked up this interface about a year and a half ago to use for DJing and production. There's only one word that can describe it: amazing. I run Live on a Mac and I've never had a single problem with this interface. 4 channels out and 1 in will fill up any DJ mixer and let you record at the same time. Having to buy 1/4" to RCA cables was a pain, but after using them I wish my mixer had 1/4" inputs instead of RCA. Power over Firewire is great too, one cable to the computer and you're ready to go.

If you're in need of a serious audio interface for whatever you do, don't look any further than this one.

"Good bang for your buck" 2010-08-03
By A1
Well priced, good updates from the 410 and greater I/O capacity. Only complaint is the volume control on the front. I design sound for theaters, and everything needs to be exactly the same every show. The ability to control the line level output manually on the front of the unit is a feature for other users, but a potential problem for me. if you disable it, the gain defaults to the max.

 "Simply GREAT" 2009-09-21
By Y. Erez (New York)
I'm a big fan of this audio interface, M-Audio just did everything right here. Very stable, works great on Windows 7 - 64 bit, works wonderful on Sonar 8 and now they finally released proper drivers to make it work on Pro Tools in Windows 64 bit. You have to make sure you download the beta drivers though.

"Forget it if you actually play guitar," 2010-10-04
By Steve
Needed a travel guitar to practice while sitting in hotel rooms on business. I wasn't all that concerned about sound quality. Mainly wanted something that was playable and had a decent neck and string action.

Very disapointed. String action was so high I consider this thing completely unplayable. Tried adjusting truss rod and it helped, but still very unplayable.

Sound was about what I expected, not going to play a concert with it, but good enough for practice use.

Nice case and accessories, and a great idea. But too bad the guitar itself is unusable and unplayable. I'm amazed at the good reviews, so I can only assume that most of these folks are not actual guitar players or have no experiance with anything other than a walmart guitar..

Returned and decided to look at other options instead...

"Good guitar, but oohooh that smell!" 2010-09-24
By Michael J. Stuart (Beaverdam, Virginia, USA)
My wife bought this guitar for me before we went on a long camping vacation in July 2010. I had read reviews about the quality of this product compared to similar travel guitars and decided that user feedback clearly indicated that this one was optimum for a combination of quality and price. I had also read reviews about an unpleasant odor, but decided that whatever smell resulted from the manufacturing process and would quickly dissipate.

When the guitar arrived, I quickly found out that I was satisfied with the quality, though it was a bit more awkward to play it than I had anticipated. The low weight of the guitar meant that I had to hold it more firmly with my left hand so that I could still keep a steady pressure for the strumming pattern on my right hand. This made it harder to change chords quickly and my playing ability suffered as the guitar wobbled every time I'd change hand positions. This is an inherent issue with travel guitars in general and I only note it hear so that others may be aware of it and expect it.

The odor was definitely strong when I opened the case. It smells like burnt coal. At first, it didn't seem too objectionable because I thought it would dissipate quickly, but it did not. In fact, I left the guitar case open for it to "air out" for a few days, which only resulted in the whole house smelling like burnt coal.

It's been two months now and the smell seems just as strong as the first day I got it. I can only hope that it eventually disappears, because it is now objectionable. I don't even like opening the case because of the strong smell. I am considering putting it in a room with an ozonator and giving it a heavy dose of ozone treatment. If this works, I'll post it here. If anyone else has any suggestions to eliminate the smell, I'm all nose.

"If you can stand the smell..." 2010-09-06
By Kevin M (Tampa, FL United States)
The sound of this little guitar is very good given it's size and the construction looks very good, but the smell of it could make you pass out! I don't know if it's the glue, varnish, or foam in the case, but it WILL make you ill if you're around it for more than a few minutes. The case is much worse that the guitar but I've put both out in the garage to "air out". If it's not better in a week, it will be going back.

"Great value, but what is that smell?" 2010-08-19
By M Florin (Croton-on-Hudson, NY United States)
We bought this guitar to take to France on vacation -- it was an easy fit on the plane, and the sound for the size is very good, so it's been brought out and played on a regular basis. Only gripe is that the case and strap are treated with some awful chemical that stinks to high heaven, even after letting both air for 4-5 days outside. It has lessened now, and we would still recommend the guitar, but be prepared for the need to thoroughly air out the accessories.

"Only buy if you can't travel with a larger guitar" 2010-08-12
By Johnnylighton (Santa Monica, CA)
I really wanted to like the Rover, but I returned it. Here's why:

Pros:

- Nice tone, when you get used to it. As everyone says, you can't compare this to a larger guitar. It sounds great on its own, however.

- The neck plays nicely.

Cons:

- It's very, very hard to hold. I didn't install a front strap button as some people suggested, but I just couldn't get over having to deal with how to hold the Rover every time. I'd rather travel with a slightly larger guitar that I can play while resting on my leg. Example: The Emerald X7 carbon fiber guitar, which admittedly is much more expensive ($900), is very small and light, yet sits perfectly on my leg. I'd rather try to find a cheaper guitar for camping, etc. that I can play resting on my leg than keep the Rover.

- The included straps and case had a horrible, sickening, chemical smell that didn't go away after a whole week on my balcony. I got this for a great price from Amazon, but shipping an item with this kind of strong smell is unacceptable. I shudder to think what the factory employees are dealing with who inhale this all day.

- With the included strings, it was difficult to tune. I didn't try other strings because I returned it.

- The case is larger than it needs to be, somewhat negating the Rover's size advantage.

 "Not a good product" 2010-04-11
By Nennena (Stanford, CA USA)
I am not very satisfied with this product. First of all, the suction cup does not work. Second of all the sound quality is not very good. 'Regular' or more standard pickups will work certainly better, and I am going to buy one of those.

"Works great with my Dulcimer, Baritone Uke, Banjo, accoustic guitar and accordion" 2010-03-17
By MT Penn (WPB Florida)
I was concerned when I read the reviews that the AXL Picup didn't hold when applied to an instrument. Hmmm haven't had that problem... I moisten the rubber cup, press it firmly flat and it stays and stays. The sound I get is clean and I've tried it direct into a Behringer mixer, a Danelectro mirco- mini amp and a floor amp. I'm pleased and going to purchase a couple more so that I can pack 'em separately with my instruments. For the price, I didn't expect the value I received. I'm pleased.

do not but this pickup. The sound seems ok I guess, but the suction cup does not work! I'm not sure how I can attach it to my ukulele, but as far as sticking it on the front with the suction cup, its impossible. It falls off after about 10 seconds.

the suction cup does not work. it looks like aged. it's very hard with room temp 70F. I removed the rubber suction cup and I have to use a big paper clipper to secure it on the sound hole edge. it picks up sound OK, but not great.

I bought this for my son who plays flamenco guitar. No need to modify guitar with holes. Put the suction cup on the back of the guitar if you want it out of the way. Plug it into an amp and it sounds great.

The MG102C is a compact mixer with 8 total input channels: four mono and four stereo line inputs. Mono inputs have switchable 48V phantom power. Stereo inputs can accept either RCA or ¼" connectors. Channels 1 and 2 offer single-knob compression, a Yamaha exclusive. This feature, designed for easy use, allows inputs with very wide dynamics to be better heard. For example, with the right amount of compression, a vocal that must be whispered in quiet parts and screamed out in louder parts will be better balanced in the mix. Dual 8-segment LED meters allow visual monitoring of the main stereo outputs. Its small footprint allows easy placement.

I paid 30% more for this 2 years ago, and it has never failed me. From small stage live to even the built in effects, this is a must for any single or duo act. It works perfect as a small karaoke mixer as well. I'm amazed the price has gotten so low. The only thing I'd like to see is a USB port for recording. Yamaha MG102C 10 Input Stereo Mixer

"Great Choice for my Martin D-3R" 2007-02-22
By J. Brow (Seattle, WA USA)
When I made the switch from playing only electric guitar to acoustic (and I purchased my Martin D-3R, sadly a discontinued model), I brought it into the guitar shop and had it set up and adjusted for extra-light strings. From day one I've been using these strings. They last a long time and sound great. I also noticed they do not stretch out that much after the initial string change. I'm not sure how these strings would sound on other acoustics but on Martins I don't think you can go wrong.
