I bought this guitar for my son who is 5. It is made horrible. The strings all broke after 1 week and the strap would not stay on the guitar at all. This is more of a toy for a 2 year old and is not worth the money .

 "Awful" 2010-04-21
By Mancel Fincher Jr. (Dresden, Tn USA)
This guitar came to me with things missing. I have a son who was looking forward getting this and when we got it he could not even play it!! It was a mess there was chips in the paint the "nut" or also know as the top bridge was missing and without that you can't even play the thing. So I guess what I get for the price I paid for it. I will have better luck going to Wal-Mart and buying a new one. I don't recommend this to anyone with kids or getting it for a special gift like birthdays it will hurt their feelings like it did my son. I will never buy from here ever again.

 "Not very durable" 2010-04-04

 "Comes with nice extras" 2010-01-15
By T. Pillar
This is a very cheaply made guitar. The strings wouldn't stay wound and my husband had to glue the string guide back on as it was attached crooked. Also, the holes that the strings rest in are too shallow and he had to cut the grooves deeper so we could tune the guitar. We kept it because the extras it came with were nice and worth the money we spent. It's good enough for use as a toy/beginner item.

The guitar actually broke in half while trying to tighten the strings. I don't know that there is anything else to say after that.

Taylor Swift's Fearless Baby: The Taylor Swift Baby Taylor Guitar (TSBT)

Inspired by memories of writing songs on her Baby Taylor, country pop sensation Taylor Swift collaborated with Taylor Guitars to design a signature Baby Taylor model. The Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT) features standard Baby Taylor specs, embellished by Swift's custom, screen-printed rosette design.

Taylor Swift: Singer, Songwriter, Actress, and Guitar Designer

Country-pop princess Taylor Swift unveils her signature Taylor Swift Taylor Baby (TSBT) guitar that's perfect for the singer-songwriters of tomorrow.

Taylor Swift designed the Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT) Guitar because she wanted to share her passion for playing guitar with her fans.
All About the Taylor Swift Taylor Baby Guitar (TSBT)

At three-quarters the size of Taylor Guitar's standard dreadnought, and with a slim 1 11/16-inch neck and a comfortable, compact shape, the guitar is just right for both the littlest player’s hands and anyone who likes to pick up and play on the go. Like the original Baby Taylor, the TSBT is crafted from sapele laminate back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top.

The custom design is all Swift's, featuring her well-known expression "Love, Love, Love" among delicate vines that encircle the soundhole. To commemorate the songwriting spirit of her album, the guitar features the word "Fearless" along with Swift's signature inscribed above the bridge.

Taylor Swift Talks About the Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT)

"I wanted to share my passion for playing guitar with my fans," Taylor Swift said.

"For a beginner, finding the right guitar can be intimidating, but this guitar, it's the perfect size. Even if you've been playing for years, it's a great size to travel with. I used to sit in the back seat of the rental car while I was on my radio tour at 16, writing songs on my Baby Taylor. I love the sound, and I love those memories."

The 19-year-old singer-songwriter, who has shared a close relationship with Taylor Guitars since she was just a precocious, aspiring preteen with very big dreams, has blossomed into one of music's most successful acts. Her sophomore album Fearless (whose release Swift celebrated at the Taylor Guitars factory last November) debuted on the Billboard Hot 200 at the top spot and has since gone on to sell over 4 million copies. Recently, she surpassed the 10 million mark for total albums sold and over 20 million paid downloads--more than any artist in country music history. Her headline tour this year included a recent sold-out show at New York's Madison Square Garden, where each song was accompanied by legions of singing and screaming fans, who at one point gave Swift a four-minute standing ovation.

In the Box: 1 Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT) Guitar, 1 Taylor Gig Bag

More About the Baby Taylor

The Baby Taylor is the ultimate travel companion, delivering volume and tone that surprise for its diminutive dimensions. At three-quarters the size of a full-sized guitar, the Baby Taylor lives for the road. It also loves little hands, which makes it an irresistible choice for kids taking lessons.

"Best travel guitar avaliable, and a fine guitar as well." 2010-02-05
By Red Badge
I have several Taylor guitars, and have owned a Big Baby for several years. I own several travel guitars (including the Martin) and the Taylor is the only one that sounds like a real guitar. Another reviewer suggests her Taylor doesn't stay in tune, but also mentions it was damaged in transit. My Big Baby is used for Youth Group bible study and has sat out on a stand for years and I can say it rarely needs retuning unless it's played a lot and hard. Then again, I maintain a consistent relative humidity in my house. Bottom line, it's a quality though relatively inexpensive instrument. You're not going to find anything any better in this price range. Like any wood instrument it will be impacted by changes in temperature and humidity.

How small is it? Well, it's smallish, yet very playable. If the person playing it is on the smaller side it is a perfect size. Far better than trying to play my Taylor full-size dreadnought.

As far as the Swift commemorative design, that is a matter of taste. The regular Baby Taylor is a bit boring looking, as all of the effort was put into making a quality product as inexpensive as possible. I personally think the Swift looks nice. And if Swift's meteoric rise in popularity doesn't go to her head, this model may be desirable some day. I suspect a high-end Swift commemorative may follow.

"Good but could be better" 2010-02-03
By Jenny M. Christian (Woodbridge, VA United States)
I've had this guitar for a couple of weeks. My first impression is that it is cheaply made, but still pretty sturdy. The tone is ok for such small guitar and the gig bag and size are great for throwing it in the car for a quick trip. Overall, its not a bad guitar, the neck is smooth and easy to play, and it's plenty loud for campfires. But, for some reason I just can't seem to keep it in tune. I tune it up and the next day, its out of tune again. If I play for an hour, its out of tune already. So, mainly for that reason, and it came to me damaged in shipment, I am going to return it and continue on my search for a quality guitar that I can travel with as well. I hate to return it because I'm a huge taylor fan, as I have 3-4 Taylors and I wanted to remain loyal to my brand, but in this case, I'm going to have to pass. I may try to get an older USA made one to see if that makes a difference. But, I still recommend this guitar to y'all if you don't mind tuning it up more often. :-)

 "High quality guitar" 2010-02-02
By getting educated at 40 (Riverside, CA)
This is a beautiful high quality guitar that I purchased for my daughter because of her love for Taylor Swift. The Taylor Swift signature and logo have been beautifully added. My daugher's guitar teacher is a seasoned professional and he is very impressed with the quality of sound from this small guitar. The size is perfect for a young person just starting in music, it is easily handled and her arms fit easily around it. It comes with a great case that is light weight and easy to carry. I would definitely recommend this guitar to anyone interested in purchasing a guitar for a child and it is also good for adults that want a small guitar to play while riding in a vehicle or while in some other small space. Taylor Guitars did a really nice job on Taylor Swift's first signature model and the sound is really articulate for such a small guitar and would recommend highly and really like the fact that it has a solid spruce top and will get better as the guitar ages...Always wobndered why there where so many fans of the baby taylor line but this guitar can give you the sound of a dreadnought but in a much smaller size...like the fact it has an ebony fretboard and the silk screen rosette looks really good on the guitar and recommend this guitar for everyone..

 "Wonderful little device!" 2010-10-18
By Arnold E. Johnson (NH)
I purchased this pickup to install in my Fender acoustic guitar. Haven't gotten it installed in the guitar yet, but I have used it temporarily "taped" to the outside of the guitar. I was pleasantly surprised by the sensitivity of the device and the sound produced! I'm sure I will be happy when I get it permanently installed.

 "It works well." 2010-02-10
By R. Cottrell
It is simple to install this contact mike -- no surprises. I used it to create and electrify a cigar-box guitar. The quality of sound that resulted was beyond my modest expectations. The sound is simple, clear, and resembles an acoustic guitar -- which is more than a cigar-box deserves.

When the sound (or the signal) is passed through an effects device on its way to the amp, a variety of wild and crazy electric effects (reverb, etc.) can be created.

 "Not what was pictured" 2010-02-07
By M. Brophy (Maryland)
I was looking forward to a pretty decent cheap little pickup for my ukulele, but I did not receive what was pictured on amazon. Instead of and AXL pickup i got a pickup the company Signal Flex (model SF-PU1) that just sounds terrible. very tinny sound with no fullness, when placed in multiple positions. The pickup, although it had a female 1/4" end, was NOT designed to sit in the instrument and be mounted by drilling a hole, it seems like it is supposed to be attached to the strap holder (through a shoddy plastic clamp) which my ukulele does not have. overall the quality of it seemed cheap, although you get what you pay for. I would not recommend the seller bandbox2, they do not give you what they advertise.

"best and easy install for acoustic instrument." 2010-01-17

Simple to install and true to the sound of the instrument. Take the time to locate the best sweet spot to locate the pickup on the instrument, and be sure to use a more permanent adhesive than the double sided tape provided.

"Does what it's supposed to." 2009-12-27
By Daevyd (Dayton, OH USA)
I received this for Christmas this year. I replaced my Seymour Performer with it and it sounds great, making my acoustic guitar sound like an acoustic guitar in addition to eliminating the ugly cord coming out of the front and giving me back my entire sound hole. There really isn't anything negative to say about this product. It's inexpensive and a cinch to install (remember when drilling: safety glasses and restraints and/or a sedative--the wife freaked out when I began drilling a hole in my axe). You will, however, need a pre-amp. I use the Tech 21 SansAmp Para Driver DI and it is suh-WEET!!

"Poor excuse for a guitar" 2009-12-27
By Brian O (Austin, TX USA)
I bought this guitar for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas so she could have her own instrument to learn to play her favorite Taylor Swift songs. I have been playing bass guitar for over 20 years and had a few full size guitars lying around that were just a little too big for her to handle.

Out of the package, the guitar seemed OK, but one of the strings was bent / kinked right between the hole and the bridge.

I bought new D'Addario light strings and started setting up the guitar...I was extemely dismayed that I had a real hard time keeping the guitar in tune for more than a few strums.

I was even more dismayed to find out that I had the top 2 strings (E & A) tuned by hitting the E-5th fret and open A simultaneously, but was way out of tune (~1/4 to 1/2 step) when I played the E octave on the A string (7th fret). I had the same problem on all strings.

Bottom line - this would be fine if you just need an instrument for decoration, but I would not suggest as a learning guitar.

Why would you subject your child to the frustration of learning to play on an instrument that does not play or stay in tune?

They will have enough of a challenge learning the basics, building their skills, and staying motivated and focused long enough to make progress.

I am now looking at instruments at the local music stores to try to recover the Christmas joy of her getting a guitar to fulfill her musical dreams.

"Steel Strings Hurt Beginners Finders" 2009-12-20
By Utah Father (Draper, UT)
Guitar is just as expected for the price - not gonna win any awards with it, but just the right size for my 9 year old girl. The steel strings hurt her fingers, thinking I should have gotten a nylon string guitar for her to learn on (of course this has nothing to do with the guitar).

I would buy this again.

"Great for a few laughs..." 2007-12-18
By R. Hartung III (Everywhere, USA)
I ordered the "Lauren" 30 inch Guitar Package as a joke gift for my girlfriend, who shares the name of the manufacturer. For twenty some odd dollars I certainly wasn't expecting anything remotely close to sub-par, at least as far as guitars are concerned. But what came in the mail really wasn't too bad.

The tuners are cheap but they hold tune, mostly, unless you bend too far. The body, as well as the head and neck, feel like pine, which is fine because I wasn't expecting koa or something nice. The paint job isn't too bad, except for the few nicks I found, which were easily covered with black sharpie. All of the physical attributes really don't mean a thing if it doesn't sound good, and well... I'm laughing... It's really not that bad! The "Lauren" has a tinny sound, which is to be expected from a small guitar with a smaller resonator. I'd never record anything serious with it but for a "beat around" travel-sized guitar I'm not that concerned.

The less than sturdy bag that comes with this tiny guitar is okay with the exception of a few small holes. Really though, this bag is nothing more than a glorified purse made with inferior materials for a guitar of similar construction. The overall assembly of the gig bag, not that you'd ever take this to a gig unless you wanted to break it or sound like you were playing out of a piezoelectric speaker, is mostly poor but I'll go with okay just because it looks alright.

The rest of the package comes with a few picks with the "Lauren" logo printed on them and a pitch pipe tuner which I refuse to put my mouth on, just on principle.

Overall, I was expecting a turd. What I found was a polished turd so, if you're like me and just want to buy one for a gag, then by all means, this is the way to do it, just don't expect much.

the lauren guitars are knowed to be really good, and that's why i bought this one. i thought i was getting a good deal online, since my local store had a lauren guitar (a solid, natural color one) for the same price, but it didnt come with a gig bag. Well, when i got it, it wasnt wraped or boxed well at all.. no pading or anything! i took a peek to makesure nothing was damaged, and it loked o.k. so i left it in the box till xmas (for about three weeks). well, apperently it was damaged! the inside of the bridge (forgot what its called) was damaged, and my local music shop said it would cost more to fix, than to buy a new one! that just pist me off! i didnt know i was supposed to fill out a warrenty card with in a few days of purchase, either.. so now its not covered under warrenty! everytime it plays, it has a bussing sound comeing from the G string, thanks to the part that's broken! i recomend buying it at a local music shop, and not risk the poor shipping! plus, if u buy it at a music shop, they usually warenty their merchandise!

good luck!

The Furman M-8Dx power conditioner was the culminating purchase in the process of upgrading to a new home theater system. With the total value of equipment installed, I did not want to use a standard power strip so I began the process of researching power conditioners and surge protectors. This unit clearly sits at the intersection of great features and acceptable price. The construction is all metal and solid with plenty of outlets on the back plus a handy outlet on the front of the unit. I have not used the front outlet yet, but my component cabinet configuration makes this a real plus. The digital voltmeter is a cool feature not normally seen at this price point. I have had the unit installed for about two months and have had zero issues. Would buy it again with no concerns.

I guess I should have checked better before I bought this. It didn't fit the full size guitar I was buying it for, it's just not long enough. I gave it to my son who has a 3/4 and 1/2 size. It's a fairly cheap case but it's a fairly cheap price too.

"Pretty flimsy; I wouldn't use it for an expensive guitar" 2010-04-30
By threelittlechicks (Hackettstown, NJ)
I just bought one of these from someone on Craig's List who thought classicals and acoustics were the same size/shape, so she couldn't use it. So I got it in brand new condition for $10. That's all I'd WANT to pay for it. I just bought a cheapie Montana classical guitar for $100, so I don't have an expensive asset to protect. This will do the trick when I want to bring it around. I did have a hard time closing the third latch - the one by the widest part of the guitar. Once the guitar goes inside, it pushes against the sides of the case just enough to make the top part of the lid not want to meet the lower part. I finally got it to close and hopefully keeping it closed around the guitar for a few days will "stretch" the lid so it won't give me trouble. Am I happy with the case? I spent $10, so I'm ecstatic. If I'd spent the $40 originally shown on Amazon, I'd be annoyed as hell. In short, buy this if you are short on cash and your guitar is NOT an expensive one.

"Cheap semi-hard classical guitar case" 2010-03-20
By J. Dauntless (Clearwater, Florida)
I thought this would be a perfect case for my 28 year old semi-decent Yamaha classical guitar, since my 20 year old chipboard guitar case fared pretty well until now. However, I've been disappointed with the quality of this one.

Yamaha website [...] shows a picture that looks much better than the one I received. Also, it's supposed to be "Velour Lined", which is NOT. In addition, in two places they forgot to cover exposed metals inside the case, making the guitar prone to scratches.

I don't think Yamaha really makes guitar cases. This case doesn't even have any identification mark about Yamaha. They possibly subcontract these to the lowest bidder. Apparently, this time they didn't select the right contractor.

If the guitar you have is valued more than $150, this case is not even worth considering.
