This double guitar stand is the ticket. Takes up a lot less room than 2 separate ones.

"Good, but not convenient if you have an acoustic and an electric" 2010-04-29
By Zhuang Liang (CA)
The thing is, you can only put the acoustic guitar in the front. This makes retrieving and placing the electric one from and to the back somewhat inconvenient, depending on how much care you put on the guitar and how often you need to pick up the electric one. Overall, it's good. It does what it says.

My daughter got an electric guitar for Christmas and we needed something to keep the new guitar and the acoustic off the floor. This fit the bill perfectly. Very easy to set up...she is only 9 and it doesn't take up alot of space. Arrived quickly and is sturdy. I think it will last....until the next guitar! Great value for the money.

D'Addario EXP16 Phosphor Bronze Light - Acoustic

An ultra-fine layer of EXP Coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. EXP coated phosphor bronze strings have a natural round wound feel and sound fresh and bright with a "new string tone" that lasts three to four times longer than traditional guitar strings.

"Not as good as you would think." 2010-05-20
By J. Michael Phillips (Central Florida)
I have been using D'Addario Phosphor Bronze since they came out in 1974. I use nothing else on my 2000 Gibson Advanced Jumbo. These coated strings don't keep the new sound any longer than uncoated EJ-16's.

"best strings - no contest" 2010-05-19
By David Emery Bricker (Miami, FL United States)
I own a number of high-end guitars, some of them custom made. All of that fancy wood is great, but probably the single greatest factor in good tone is good strings. They have to be the right strings for a particular instrument and they have to be fairly new. Keeping good strings on a dozen or so instruments gets to be an expensive proposition, and EXPs are pricier than many others, but they last MUCH longer. I play my instruments all the time, but get several months of good tone from a set of these. Unlike other coated strings, the coating never peels off. In fact, you'll never notice they're coated. I use phosphor bronze strings on most of my guitars and I've never seen these EXPs turn green or black or gray like typical bronze strings that are broken in in a week and then wasted within a month. As a 30-year player, I recommend these wholeheartedly.

 "Excellent" 2010-04-11
By E. Gratis
These exact strings came factory-installed on my Takamine G260 acoustic guitar. The polymer coating on the strings is so slight that I didn't even realize these were coated for a long time. It doesn't really affect the sound, at least to my ears. The coating helps protect the strings from corrosion, so it is a big plus. I also tried the regular phosphor bronze and they are also good. I suppose it's possible that these could slightly mellow the sound by damping ultra-high frequency harmonics, but the coating isn't supposed to be applied to the cracks between the windings, so I doubt it affects the sound at all. If you like super-bright sounding strings, maybe you want regular non-coated, but these are probably the brightest coated strings available. Sound great, have lasted months so far, 5 stars

"Great strings for any guitar" 2010-02-17
By Peter Ward (Kearny, NJ USA)
These EXP16s sound better, in my opinion, than the Martins, Elixirs, and others

I have tried. The EXP11s aren't quite as good (they are an 80/20 blend

instead of the Phosphor Bronze used here.

I have them on my Gibson J-100 Xtra, and I love them.

 "Didn't get what I paid for" 2010-06-03

I just got this today, and it looked great, until I realized that there were missing items. I didn't receive most of what I paid for!! I DID NOT RECEIVE:

The extra set of strings,

The guitar strap,

The pick,

The CD-ROM,

OR the DVD!!

This is very disappointing and I would either like to return this for a FULL refund, or it would be nice to get these items now that I have the guitar and bag.

"Nylon Strings and Poor Packaging" 2010-01-21
By G. Robert Arnold (Cedar Rapids, IA)
Received this guitar right after Christmas, it was so poorly packed that when I opened the box, the top cover of the guitar was completely detached. There was no protection in the packaging what so ever.

Upon further investigation, I also noticed that it was all nylon strings. Basically it a kiddy guitar to be bought to mess around on, not to actually learn or play. I would avoid purchasing at all costs. There are much better First time or learner guitars out there. I know Targets First Act series are way better than this option.

"Great pack to start out on" 2010-01-19
By Dave
I got this for my son for Christmas. I didn't want to spend too much, as you never know what kids will stick with. I play and didn't want him banging on my Taylor. When he opened in on Christmas it was a favorite. I play, so I tried out the guitar and it played fine and stayed in tune. I read through some of the other reviews and wonder if people aren't being overly critical considering this is a beginner guitar under $100. Granted, it isn't a great guitar but fine for someone starting out. Most of us start out on something basic and move one once we get the passion.

The software is what makes this pack stand out. We have been going through it together and I am quite impressed with the quality of the lessons. My parent put me in 6 years of private lessons at $30 an hour. The software included is a great start at guitar.

This was a gift for my son and I thought it sounded good, though it was a bit hard to tell from the online images what it would look and feel like. We are impressed on both counts. It's a nice set, with everything you need for basic lessons and protection of the instrument, and my son is really enjoying it.

 "Great new humidifying system!" 2010-05-14
By Benjamin J. Zornes (Colorado)
This is a great new product from planet waves. It removes the drag of having to constantly be refilling the water in a traditional humidification system. The one drawback is having to remember to refill as well as purchasing (it gets a little pricey) the humidity packets. However, if you have a nice guitar, this is the way to go. It is so important for me (here in Colorado) to make sure my new guitar is well humidified!! Great concept!

 "too expensive" 2010-04-08
By Richard Migliacci
You can't really tell if this is working or not with out a meter. Even if it is, I agree with others that have said it cost too much because it doesn't last long enough.

Customer Buzz
 "Nice Concept, Poor Value" 2010-03-28
By F. Sqrow
I bought the system a couple of months ago in January 2010. Seems to work really well but life of the Humidipaks is about two weeks. Granted this was over the winter months but I run a free standing humidifier in the house and the humidity in the room was almost always in the low 40's. The first set lasted about a week but the theory was that the guitar was dry and that subsequent packets would give me better life. Alas this was not the case. Since they are over $8 each and a set consists of three (two in the sound hole and one by the head) I feel it is excessively expensive.

Customer Buzz
"Don't buy this! A waste of money! Use Zorb-it!" 2010-02-25
By C. H. N. Went (Netherlands)
I bought this product but the packages were hard after 2 weeks and I had to throw them away!

Since then I use ZORB-IT. It is in my guitar case for 5 months now and keeps my guitar comfortably between 48-50% humidity.

It is MUCH MUCH cheaper and works forever and ever....

Nice bussinessmodel for Planet Waves (selling you new packets all the time)! Bad for you!

Customer Buzz
"$18-27 PER MONTH, plus shipping" 2010-02-18
By Warren Anderson
An innovative, effective and worry-free product to protect your valuable instrument from the dyshumidity monster--for three to four weeks. Then all three paks must be replaced. This was my experience in Jan-Feb in San Antonio, not the driest and coldest U.S. winter environment to be sure.

I used a Planet Waves digital humidity meter to measure the case inside environment, and for three weeks it was spot-on 47%. Thereafter it fell to 30s. The paks started to get hard granular "peas" at the outer edges of what had formerly been smooth peanut butter consistency. I asked Planet Waves about recharging them in the steam of a bathroom with the hot shower running, but they didn't know if it would be effective. I tried and the hard granules did not go away.

I'm a true believer in guitar humidity control, but I'd rather add distilled water to a sponge device and use savings for fresh strings more often than spend up to $324 plus shipping a year on Humidipak refills.

High quality but comparitive value so low as to rate ONE STAR.

Elixir Strings revolutionized guitar strings by finding a way to extend the life of wound strings without compromising the tone. Polyweb coated strings have a balanced tone and smooth response - they sound like strings that have been "played in". Nanoweb coated strings sound and feel like uncoated strings - they are bright and lively, and the coating is so micro thin that you can barely tell it's there.

 "my favs" 2007-10-27
By Christopher M. Porro (san francisco, ca)
i've been playing guitar for 15 years. i have a very nice taylor acoustic and tone is very important to me. its even more important when you start recording and can hear every detail.

i actually discovered these strings when my taylor came strung with them. they sound great, very balanced, and they retain their sound way way longer then any uncoated strings i've played. well worth the extra money imho. i haven't done a side by side comparison but i believe they also cut down on string squeak when sliding and have a smoother feel when moving around the fretboard quickly

 "Ehh..." 2007-03-22
By Dominick C. Mascolo (Iraq, for now)
So I got these new Nanoweb strings for my CF Martin Acoustic guitar. I was expecting them to be at least up to par with the Martin SP+ that I currently had on it, well I was wrong. Sure, they have less screech when sliding up and down the fret board, but they sound just down right tinny! You could just as easy add some fret glide to your guitar and get great sound out of the guitar...

By Kenneth E. Parker (Humble)
I have a fender accoustic guitar, and I bought these strings for the feel and sound. The feel is great! The sound is not right. I believe the Elixir strings are made for an electric guitar rather than an accoustical guitar. You might give it a thought before you buy these strings, for the quality sound that you are looking for.

"Cheap but gets the job done" 2010-03-22
By M. Benjamin (Murrieta, CA)
When I first saw this capo, I thought it was gonna be cheap and crappy. But I decided to buy one because of the price. After about 2 months of using it, I can honestly say that this capo is worth more than Amazon priced it. It will work on most curved-neck guitars and it even worked on my ukulele. It is a great product.

 "Does its job" 2010-03-08
By muroo
This is my friend's least favorite style of capo, but it does its job. I don't play very often and when I do I am not changing keys all the time so I don't mind taking the time to adjust it. You just have to make sure the part touching the strings is well centered. Very easy to use!

Customer Buzz
 "Serves the purpose well..!!" 2010-02-07
By Abhijit R. Kulkarni
Its a very easy to use and cheap capo. It needs a little adjustment in the beginning so that it fits perfectly to your guitar. I got it right in the first try, so i'm happy. It has no springs or anything. Just one band connecting two metal straps, which get locked into each other. It is not very attractive to look at, but then, it serves the purpose...!! Also comes in a small plastic case. If you are using this on multiple guitars, then this is NOT the one you want.

"Holds down strings OK, but difficult to adjust" 2010-01-30
By Paul M. Solberg (Morton Grove, IL)
It was inexpensive, but I wish I had sprung for a few more dollars to try a different capo. It is difficult to take on an off. It needs lots of adjustment and sometimes does not hold down the top and bottom E strings all that well. It needs adjustments up and down the neck and when moved to a different guitar. It you don't need a capo all that often and not for live performance, then this will be OK. Otherwise, look for something better.

"Noninvasive quality guitar strap button" 2010-05-18
By C. Gonzalez (Scottsbluff, NE)
I love this guitar strap button. It's a great alternative to the invasive buttons that have to be screwed in. I actually purchased it for my new Mahalo U-35PK Sparkling Soprano Ukulele Outfit in Pink. It works well for it's stated purpose and appears to be of high quality. The leather is nice and soft and the button fits snuggly into the leather hole.
