I purchased this pickup to install in my Fender acoustic guitar. Haven't gotten it installed in the guitar yet, but I have used it temporarily "taped" to the outside of the guitar. I was pleasantly surprised by the sensitivity of the device and the sound produced! I'm sure I will be happy when I get it permanently installed.

It is simple to install this contact mike -- no surprises. I used it to create and electrify a cigar-box guitar. The quality of sound that resulted was beyond my modest expectations. The sound is simple, clear, and resembles an acoustic guitar -- which is more than a cigar-box deserves.
When the sound (or the signal) is passed through an effects device on its way to the amp, a variety of wild and crazy electric effects (reverb, etc.) can be created.

I was looking forward to a pretty decent cheap little pickup for my ukulele, but I did not receive what was pictured on amazon. Instead of and AXL pickup i got a pickup the company Signal Flex (model SF-PU1) that just sounds terrible. very tinny sound with no fullness, when placed in multiple positions. The pickup, although it had a female 1/4" end, was NOT designed to sit in the instrument and be mounted by drilling a hole, it seems like it is supposed to be attached to the strap holder (through a shoddy plastic clamp) which my ukulele does not have. overall the quality of it seemed cheap, although you get what you pay for. I would not recommend the seller bandbox2, they do not give you what they advertise.

Simple to install and true to the sound of the instrument. Take the time to locate the best sweet spot to locate the pickup on the instrument, and be sure to use a more permanent adhesive than the double sided tape provided.

I received this for Christmas this year. I replaced my Seymour Performer with it and it sounds great, making my acoustic guitar sound like an acoustic guitar in addition to eliminating the ugly cord coming out of the front and giving me back my entire sound hole. There really isn't anything negative to say about this product. It's inexpensive and a cinch to install (remember when drilling: safety glasses and restraints and/or a sedative--the wife freaked out when I began drilling a hole in my axe). You will, however, need a pre-amp. I use the Tech 21 SansAmp Para Driver DI and it is suh-WEET!!
